From High-Impact Teaching (HIT), Collaborative Research Group (CRG), and Student Research (SR) Grants to Humanities Fellowships, the Bucknell Humanities Center offers a wide range of scholarly, hands-on, and experiential support for students and faculty alike.
Student Support
Student Research (SR) Rolling deadline (September 15th–March 27th)
Up to $1,500 per project to support students engaged in research projects in the humanities and humanistic social sciences, including travel to conferences or area resources, inviting a speaker to campus, engaging in a service-learning activity, and similar.
Faculty Research Support
National Humanities Center Summer Residency Fellowship (NHCSRF) Due: November 17th
The BHC may nominate up to two faculty for the NHC‘s prestigious Summer Residency program in June of 2026; nominees will be able to apply to the NHC’s internal selection process. Successful applicants will have the residency fee and their travel to the NHC covered by the BHC. If funding permits, the BHC may also be able to pay a $6,000 stipend for a second month of work once the residency ends.
High-Impact Research (HIR) Rolling deadline (September 8th–March 20th)
Up to $1,500 to assist faculty to engage in short-term research-related activities in the humanities and humanistic social sciences that are not fully covered by any other campus resource. Such activities may include research-related trips to archives, libraries, or museums; purchasing books or software that is not available on campus; meeting with research collaborators; or any other worthwhile, potentially high-impact short-term research activities.
Faculty Research Fellowship (FRF) Deadline passed (September 15th)
Up to $2,000 for research expenses needed to support and enhance ongoing humanistic faculty research leading to publication in peer-reviewed venues (print and/or digital).

Faculty–Student Collaboration (FSC) New Deadline: December 1st, 2025
Up to $2,000 to foster collaborative research with students on projects from the humanities and humanistic social sciences.
High-Impact Teaching (HIT) Rolling deadline (September 8th–March 20th)
Up to $1,000 to support faculty in the humanities with course-related activities that are not typical or not fully covered by any other campus resource.
Collaborative Research Groups (CRG) Rolling deadline (September 15th–March 27th)
Up to $1,000 in support of working groups (a minimum of three faculty from two or more departments). Funds have been used to order books for a faculty reading group, support external consultation, fund local travel (e.g., to nearby sites, archives, or museums), and provide sustenance for group meetings.
